I had two fantastic Woodworkers this year working in their own shops, so I had very little woodworking to do this year in terms of crafts.
I created the framing for Pride Rock and the boa tree in the church.
I also created the swinging Giraffe heads. The idea comes directly from a little boat ride at Disneyland in Anaheim! :)
The stand out memory of creating the moving heads was, for the first time in 50 years of cutting wood, I cut myself during VBS set-up week!
Sabersaw meet finger!
Several stitches and a broken bone are all healing, and for the first time ever at a VBS, I could not play my guitar to lead music! This was a profound lesson learned on many levels.
Mid-week at VBS, the sutures were removed and, on Friday, I was able to play ONE SONG, mainly because the song did not need that finger much to play the chord on my guitar.
I will be more careful in the future you can be sure!
